About Us

history

It began with a vision.

It was 1925 and a handful of people came together with a strong conviction of a need for a church on the expanding eastside of Muskogee. They would begin meeting in a living room, and they would call this newly gathered family of believers Boulevard Christian Church. The heart of the church was obvious from the beginning. A banner outside Boulevard’s earliest building read, "A Stranger But Once."

Our location has changed, but the heartbeat of those living room pioneers continues with Boulevard today.

Our desire is to be A Caring Community of Christians in this region; a place where people can explore who God is and what He has in store for them, regardless of their age, church background, or the size of their paycheck. Our heart is to place the truth of the Good News of God on the bottom shelf so it can be lived out in our people on a daily basis. We want to be a place and people brimming over with creativity, humor, honesty, grace, and love.

Years later, the vision for Boulevard remains the same, only the living room has gotten bigger.
